Providence/Newport
Providence is the capital city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It’s home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, whose RISD Museum displays American art and silver. Nearby, 18th- and 19th-century homes line the streets of College Hill. Newport is a city set on Aquidneck Island in the New England state of Rhode Island. Its yacht-filled harbor hosted the America’s Cup, a renowned annual sailing regatta, for many years. Newport is also known for the Gilded Age mansions lining Bellevue Avenue, some of which are now museums. The most famous is The Breakers, an 1895 mansion patterned after a Renaissance palace.
Boston
Boston is Massachusetts’ capital and largest city. Founded in 1630, it’s one of the oldest cities in the U.S. The key role it played in the American Revolution is highlighted on the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile walking route of historic sites that tells the story of the nation’s founding. One stop, former meeting house Faneuil Hall, is a popular marketplace. Fenway Park is a baseball and since 1912, it has been the home for the Boston Red Sox. Portland is a city in the U.S. state of Maine, set on a peninsula extending into Casco Bay. The Old Port waterfront features working fishing wharves and converted warehouses with restaurants and shops. Nearby, the Western Promenade is a public park atop a bluff, offering river and mountain views. Its surrounding district, the West End, is full of Victorian-era homes, including the Victoria Mansion museum. Maine is best-known & loved for lobster. Mount Washington
Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288.2 ft (1,916.6 m) and the most prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River. The mountain is located in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. The mountain is popular with hikers (the Appalachian Trail crosses the summit). Other common activities include glider flying, and annual cycle and running races. Since 1869, the Mount Washington Cog Railway has provided tourists with a train journey to the summit of Mount Washington. The Cog Railway ascends the western slope of the mountain. It uses a Marsh rack system and was the first successful rack railway in the US.

You can also take a day trip to Newport as it is very close to Providence. Newport is home to many Gilded Age mansions, the famous one known as The Breakers’ Vanderbilt Mansion. You can collect your rental car from the airport upon your arrival.
Drive to BostonMake your way up to Boston on day. The drive from Providence to Boston is a little over an hour.
Explore BostonDays 4-5 spend getting to know the city of Boston. If the season is right, head over to the oldest baseball park in America, Fenway Park and catch a Boston Red Soxs game. The interesting history of the Boston Tea Party can be found at the Boston Tea Party Museum. If you’re feeling thirsty, take a tour of the Samuel Adams Brewery and sample some of the best beers in America. Drive to Portland, MaineFor the next stop of your trip, make your way to Portland, Maine. Portland is a city set on a peninsula extending into Casco Bay. Maine is best known for its lobster and you won’t be disappointed! The drive from Boston to Portland is a little under 2 hours.
Explore Mount WashingtonDay 8 you will set out for Mount Washington, the highest peak in Northeastern United States. The mountain is popular with hikers (the Appalachian Trail crosses the summit). Other common activities include glider flying, and annual cycle and running races. If you want to see the summit but don’t want to exert a lot of energy, you can take the Cog Railway which ascends the west side of the slope. It is sure to provide you will a relaxing ride and beautiful views. The drive from Portland to Mount Washington is a little over two hours.
